I love seeing all the theories about the Red and Blu teams and why they look similar. From clones, to they switch teams so half is on one and the others on the opposite.
But my favorite has to be the idea that we have our main mercs right? the Red team. And then Blu are all look alikes because you know how you are told you have someone that looks similar to you when you were younger? So both teams look alike but they have slight differences. The Blu teams Scout might have no freckles and ginger hair and be from New York, Blu's demo might be from Ireland, their Medic might not be as unhinged? as the Reds medic and hasnt lost their medical license yet, and so on and so forth.
They arent identical to the Red mercs but their close enough that it fits. Would it be in the best intrest and a smart choice of resources to hunt these look alikes down? Probably not. But when has that ever stopped anything in the Tf2 universe.
I just feel like this theory would have so many different branches you could go with and work with in fics and what not.
Like they have feuds during work and even outside of work because its unsettling to see someoen who looks like you but theres differences not only in your personality but slight ones in the way you look. Could imagine them getting in a bar fight in teufort because they all went to the same bar and Scout started picking a fight with the Blu's Scout over baseball or something stupid which turned into "hey no. Dont pick on our Scout." "Get your Scout in order then." ect.
Theres so much to do and say with this theory and i love it so fucking much.
